Befriending the inner critic

If you’ve ever found yourself paralyzed from self-doubt or turning in circles as you try to outrun and/or override a wily inner tyrant, this is for you. This three-hour workshop will be participatory, somatically-informed, practical, and spirited. You will leave with tools and techniques to help you access a deeper, more grounded wisdom and to re-establish an internal alignment with your whole self (or, more aptly, all your selves).

I’ve seen again and again both through teaching/coaching and in my own work that, to realize our work at the highest level, writers need open-ended time to dream up new worlds and characters, deadlines and accountability to motivate and incite us, and outside feedback to assess if and how our intended vision is coming across.

This incubator offers all of the above during a 3-month, online workshop that meets every other week. Each participant will write or rewrite a feature script (or similar ambitious writing goal). Built into the process will be accountability, ongoing notes, structural tips and strategies, community, and brainstorming support plus two one-on-one story coaching sessions with me.
