Inner Critic Q&A

What is an inner critic?

If you’re asking this question, Congratulations! This workshop may not be for you.

More seriously, the inner critic is the voice in our heads that offers critiques, doubts, and fears but never solutions. It loves to assert authority and often wrongly assumes it possesses a knowledge of the future. This voice (an adaptive strategy, as we’ll learn) can paralyze a project not yet formed or thwart progress on one underway with its “helpful feedback.” It can show up in the form of a simple question like “What if this is stupid?” or “What if this is no good?” especially if it’s something we really want to attempt.

Who is this for?

This workshop is for anyone who has every been hindered and/or harmed by an internal critical monologue.

It’s for writers and other artists and for anyone attempting to initiate and realize a challenging goal and who is stumbling up against any inner blocks.
